SportsArt Fitness previews breakthrough commercial elliptical
SportsArt,
a Woodinville, WA based supplier of premium cardiovascular fitness
products, will unveil their new, patent-pending, dual-action adjustable
stride elliptical at the Health and Fitness Business Show, August 9-10-11
in Denver, Colorado.
Elliptical trainers have been the fastest growing category in health clubs for
several years. More recently, several manufacturers have added an upper body
component-hence dual-action-to their elliptical products. Dual action, which
enables a more full body workout, has been very well received by club members
nationwide.
With the advent of their patent pending adjustable stride, SportsArt's
new 8300 addresses several key issues not currently served by other products
in this category.
First and foremost is that fixed stride machines work best for those users who
have that particular stride length. Obviously a 5'3" user will have a different
stride requirement than someone 6'3", yet prior to the 8300 no dual action
commercial elliptical product addressed that issue.
Next is the issue of training effect. With adjustable stride you can vary the
training effect. For example, utilizing a shorter stride with higher strides
per minute will mimic a sprint workout (fast twitch muscle fibers), while a longer,
more casual stride will train the slow twitch muscle fibers.
The Health and Fitness Business show, held annually in Denver, CO is the largest
trade show in the country geared exclusively toward specialty fitness retailers.
